These boots are magnificent. The leather is top quality and feels really good to the touch. The decorative piping up the sides is subtle, but it takes this low-heeled/round toe boot and makes it elegant. A note on size: I read a couple of reviews where buyers said they had to return the boots for one-half size down. I ordered the 6.5 (I usually wear a 7) and they were too small. On my left foot, which is larger, my toes were hitting the front of the boot. I exchanged them for a 7, put them on when they arrived in the afternoon and didn't take them off until late in the evening. I wore them with a trouser sock with leggings tucked in and they were extremely comfortable. They also looked great and I got several compliments. The color is not bright red, but not as deep as burgundy. Since the leather is dyed, boots made from different dye lots may be a bit brighter. I'm not disappointed with the color, since I think it will be more versatile, and will wear well with skirts or leggings to show off the trim, but will be find under pants.
