I did a lot of research before purchasing these boots. Had tried on several other brands of different price ranges and styles. I finally decided on these and have not yet been dissappointed. I wasn't sure sure about break-in time, so decided rather than chance blisters on my first hike with them, that I would break them in a bit. Wore them after work for about a week while doing my normal activities, wearing medium-weight merino wool socks. No blisters to speak of. On my first hike, I did 10 miles on a mostly wet trail with mud and many obstacles I had to traverse. Feet stayed dry and boots cleaned up easily. No blisters either. The single "complaint" I have is that the heel area seems a bit too roomy. I will remedy that by wearing a thinner pair of cotton socks under my merino wool ones next time. Great product and well made! The Vibram soles have an excellent grip pattern. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone who hikes a little or a lot.
