I typically run Asics and Saucony brand six to eight miles per run and some of my favorite shoes are the 33 Series from Asics such as Gel Blur & Excel, as well as Nimbus for longer distance work. Been a fan of the Saucony Kinvara 2 & 3 which I prefer for shorter speed and 5 and 10K events so I figured I'd get back into a training shoe from them.

The Mirage feels very similar to a Kinvara and in fact the sole is similarly built with a foamy sole capped sparingly over wear points by a harder rubber. I've had it out on several 6 and 8 mile runs. It's light. The cushioning is good and the ride is stable. The colors are bright and attractive. Flat laces which I prefer.

My main issue with the shoe is the tapered and relatively narrow toe box. It's a bit too tapered and tends to push my toes together, just a little more than I'd prefer. I'd also anticipate that the sole will wear out pretty quickly. I'm about 170 and in about 75 miles have already gotten into foam in a couple spots.

I do like the level of cushioning and the stable ride and if the toe box were a bit wider it would clearly get another star or maybe even two. I'm going to work with it a bit more perhaps it will relax with further mileage.
