Ordered these boots as a solution to both rainy and snowy weather in Northern IL. Usually wear size 9 in athletic shoes, size 8 1/2 in other shoes. Ordered a 9, and they were WAY too big. Boots were tall for snow, appeared sturdy; a little lacking in style department (picture looked more stylish than the actual product.) Gapped around my ankle, and I could have probably worn a size 7 in these boots and they still would have fit. Returned because size was too big. I re-ordered size 8 in Bogs Rider Emboss and was way happier with the size (which still had room for real thick socks) and they were way more stylish, no gap around ankle.
