So I have an 11.5 wide foot and have been struggling for a month now with finding a pair of casual khaki-friendly brown shoes. ALL the trips to the freaking UPS store to return boxes to Zappos, Shoebuy, and yes Amazon....UGH. So, I've tried 2 different styles of Rockports (Maccullum & Alfrew) that cost [...], and they were plasticy looking-and-feeling junk. A [...] pair of Aetrex (LT610) shoes looked a little better but were not comfortable. Two flavors of Allen Edmonds shoes (the Wilbert and Ashton) were very good quality shoes but did not fit my foot correctly. Two different pairs of Johnston & Murphy's (Pattison & forget the other one) also crapped out. So, I found a pair of old Florsheim's in my closet and thought to check out the Florsheim web site. Ordered direct from the company 3 different styles (Cortland, Curtis, and Cornell). They all look pretty similar but fit slightly different. The Curtis is the one that fit comfortably and I'm keeping. They don't look like plastic, have an bio-comfort anti-microbial sock lining. They will need a bit of break-in for the top of the foot, but not very much...they don't hurt at the crease when your foot bends while walking. The other two Florsheim styles I mentioned pressed down on my big toe a bit, while this style did not. More pic's can be seen for this style on the Florsheim web site: [...]Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Florsheim Men's Curtis Oxford,Black,6 D US" are high quality item.
