I purchased this because I measure 14 5/8 at my largest point in my calves. I run and have larger then average calves yet I am not overly heavy. The boot is very loose at the ankle and loose enough in the footbed that I slide to the end of the shoe, even though it is my size 8.5. I can grab about 1 1/2" (doubled) at the ankle. I do not have slender, slight, or even thin ankles. I would say this would be great if you are needing something to accommodate much larger then average ankles and calves and feet. Cute boot though! I ended up going with the "Oakley" in a size 9 to have room for fuzzy socks. They fit perfect. I did also try an 8.5 "Paz" and on that one the top band actually left an indent in my calf. Way too snug! The fit everywhere else was great.
