I thought the boot would be higher on my ankle. It hits just below the joint like a chukka. The leather is very soft and the appearance is dressy. Lightweight and comfortable. I would not have ordered it if I had known the height was so low, but it appears to be typical Rockport quality, which is to say, very good.

These boots are yummy--soft leather, comfortable sole, nice heel height, toe not too pointy. Be aware that they fit differently than other Clarks boots. I am a long time Clarks wearer and am typically an 8.5 medium in Clarks. The front of my foot is wide and my ankle is narrow so in other brands I wear a 9 for the width and deal with the extra length by adding a padded insole. But in most Clarks boots and shoes even a 8.5 medium is roomy in the width. Not these. They are cut narrower which I could sort of tell by the picture (they have a different style heel and outsole than other Clarks boots) so I went up to a 9. With thick-ish socks the extra length is not a problem. I wore them all day and they were comfortable walking on pavement. I wore them with narrow-cut pants and think they will also look good with tights and skirts.

I go to college in western New York, and I have to walk about a mile to class in freezing, sometimes icy conditions. Last night we had snow for the first time and I was delighted to have these boots. They are incredibly warm and cushioned. The soles have a great heel and great traction; I don't slip at all. The arch support is great too, and the laces make it possible to get a custom fit. Also, they're quite stylish and not too bulky at all! I definitely recommend these to anyone that wants a functional yet stylish snow boot.

Even though I read the previous review I thought I'd give these a try anyway since they're just what I was looking for. I also thought that from the photo, the vamp was cut low enough for me...but it's not and this does hit the bunion area. The low toe box doesn't help much either. The heel is also loose...but that is an issue I have with most shoes. So if you have a slightly wide foot/narrow heel with a high instep, these probably won't work for you. I give them 3 stars because they are good looking and had some nice padding in the insole.

I read all the reviews about this shoe and decided it was just what I was looking for. Out of the box, 1st try on, the right shoe was great, the left shoe seemed to twist when I walked and my heel would hang over the right side of the shoe. I really like the way they look and since the right foot was good, I assumed it was me, that my feet must be different. I decided to keep them. BIG MISTAKE. I kept trying to fit the left shoe, pushing my foot further forward, tightening the straps, anything I could think of. Finally tonight I got fed up, took them both off and compared them. The inside back strap on the left shoe is attached 1/2 an inch further back than the inside strap of the right shoe so the left doesn't hold my foot in place and the heel swings out. I've worn them for a few days so I'm out the $50.00. I am not happy. My recommendation, if anything feels at all wrong, go with your gut and return them.
