I compare this model to another, similar pair of Florsheim oxfords I have. The patent leather upper of these is surprisingly supple - but still supportive, not stiff as in my other pair. While the regular width of my other pair of Florsheims is tight and uncomfortable, this wide (3E) pair is perfectly spacious. I like that Florsheim still makes shoes with leather soles. The interior is soft and comfortably padded all 'round. The fit is as expected, and the finish is quite neat. Since this pair is new, I cannot comment on their durability except to say that my other pair is still looking as new after three years of light wear and light regular maintenance.
